ANGELO, Henry Angelo's Pic Nic Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., London, 1905.

4to. Original red buckram, stamped in gilt with the image of a couple fencing, titled in gilt to spine; pp.xxxviii, 267, with 24 plates; slight fading to spine, sporadic foxing throughout, nonetheless a presentable copy.
A book of hyperbolic anecdotes by the English fencer Henry Angelo, scion of the Angelo family of fencers and son of the Italian master, Domenico Angelo. Henry belonged to the second generation of the Angelo family, who dominated Europe's fencing scene for well over 100 years, making him something of a minor celebrity. The Pic Nic is a book of miscellena related to the social scene and influential people he knew, completely unrelated to fencing and sometimes quite scandalous. This version of the Pic Nice was printed in 1905, one of 500 copies.
